श्रद्धात्रय विभाग योग (Sraddhatraya Vibhaga Yoga) – श्लोक 2
श्लोक २ में भगवान् बताते हैं कि श्रद्धा स्वभाव से उत्पन्न तीन प्रकार की होती है: सात्त्विक, राजस, तामस। Verse 2: The Lord explains that faith born of nature is threefold: sattvic, rajasic, and tamasic.
संस्कृत श्लोक
श्रीभगवानुवाच त्रिविधा भवति श्रद्धा देहिनां सा स्वभावजा। सात्त्विकी राजसी चैव तामसी चेति तां शृणु॥२॥
śrī-bhagavān uvāca tri-vidhā bhavati śraddhā dehināṁ sā svabhāva-jā | sāttvikī rājasī caiva tāmasī ceti tāṁ śṛṇu ||2||

हिंदी अनुवाद
श्रीभगवान् ने कहा – मनुष्यों की श्रद्धा उनके स्वभाव के अनुसार तीन प्रकार की होती है – सात्त्विकी, राजसी और तामसी। उसे मुझसे सुनो।
English Translation
The Blessed Lord said: Threefold is the faith of the embodied beings, which is inherent in their nature – the sattvic, the rajasic, and the tamasic. Hear about it from Me.
टीका / Commentary
भगवान् अर्जुन के प्रश्न का उत्तर देते हुए बताते हैं कि प्रत्येक जीव की श्रद्धा उसके अंतर्निहित स्वभाव (संस्कारों) से उत्पन्न होती है और तीन गुणों में विभाजित है। यह वर्गीकरण आगे के विवेचन का आधार बनता है। The Lord replies that faith arises from one's innate nature and is of three types according to the three gunas – sattva, rajas, and tamas.
