श्लोक २२: अनुचित देश-काल में, अपात्रों को, बिना सत्कार, तिरस्कारपूर्वक दिया गया दान तामस है। Verse 22: Charity given at wrong place and time, to unworthy persons, without respect and with contempt, is tamasic.

अदेशकाले यद्दानमपात्रेभ्यश्च दीयते। असत्कृतमवज्ञातं तत्तामसमुदाहृतम्॥२२॥
adeśa-kāle yad dānam apātrebhyaś ca dīyate | asatkṛtam avajñātaṁ tat tāmasam udāhṛtam ||22||

English Translation
That gift which is given at an improper place and time, to unworthy persons, without respect and with contempt – is declared tamasic.
टीका / Commentary
तामस दान वह है जो अनुचित स्थान-समय पर, अयोग्य व्यक्ति को, बिना किसी सम्मान के और उपेक्षा या तिरस्कार के भाव से दिया जाता है। Tamasic charity is given at the wrong place and time, to unworthy persons, without respect, and with disdain. It is impure and harmful.
